Deployment can be a stressful and an uncertain time for our nation’s servicemen and women and their families. The Y wants to give back to those who dedicate themselves to serving our country. Because that is what the Y stands for - caring for our community and building it stronger.
1. OUTREACH INITIATIVE - MEMBERSHIP:
To address the needs of families of deployed military personnel who live far from a military installation and require access to child development, family strengthening, and health and well-being programming, YMCA of the USA, the Armed Services and the Department of Defense have launched “Outreach Initiative”. The Outreach Initiative entails YMCA memberships for eligible military families and personnel to give them this extra support to stay connected during this difficult time. The Valley of the Sun YMCA has fully adopted the Outreach Initiative and is proud to offer this special membership. It is a Valley-wide membership and allows access all of the 17 Valley of the Sun YMCAs.
