It is hard to find a healthy recipe your kids will like to make and eat. This recipe is delicious and makes for great bonding time with your kids!


  • 1/2 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella
  • 1/2 cup part-skim ricotta
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan
  • 4 ounces sliced pepperoni
  • 1 large egg yolk; plus 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • Kosher salt
  • 1 pound fresh whole-wheat pizza dough
  • Whole-wheat flour, for dusting
  • 1/3 cup prepared pizza sauce
  • Any extra toppings that you like!


  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees
  2. Line pan with parchment paper
  3. In a bowl stir in the cheeses, pepperoni, egg yolk,1/4 teaspoon salt and extra toppings
  4. Divide the dough into eight  pieces
  5. Sprinkle working surface with flour and roll a piece of dough out into a 5-inch round
  6. Put 2  tablespoons of the cheese filling in the middle of the dough and sauce
  7. Brush the edges of the dough with egg and fold one side over
  8. Press the edges together
  9. Put the pizza on the  baking sheet
  10. Repeat with the remaining dough, filling and sauce
  11. Brush the tops of the hand pockets with egg and cut vents in each
  12. Bake until  brown around 24 to 28 minutes
