Katies HeadshotWelcome to the inaugural issue of Y News, a monthly newsletter for Valley of the Sun YMCA members. We recognize that staying well informed on the many happenings at the Y is a critical part of your member experience. Starting in May, this communication will come from your local Y branch and focus on events, programs and members specific to that location.

Did you make a resolution to get more fit and healthy in 2018? If so, you’re not alone. All of our branches have been extremely busy helping members achieve their healthy-living goals. It’s not too late to try a group fitness class or start with a personal trainer.  Make sure to download our app for up to date class times and dates.

In February and March, you probably noticed your branch filled with flyers and banners promoting the annual giving campaign, The Amazing Places We’ll Go. As a nonprofit cause-driven organization, the YMCA depends on charitable donations to fulfill its mission.

When you donate to the Y, you’re supporting programs and services, like drowning prevention, that help strengthen your community. There is still time to support your local Y. If you would like to participate in the 2018 campaign, go to our online giving page.

Finally, we are gearing up for an amazing summer at the Y! This issue outlines the many opportunities to get involved in all that the Y has to offer during the summer—day camp, sports, swim and overnight camp, to name a few. We offer fun for the whole family.

I hope you will join us for our FREE Summer Kickoff event—Healthy Kids Day—on April 21. Bring your friends and family to the Y for an amazing day of fun-filled activities!
