Alejandra Jones was born in Mexico City, she is a retired lawyer who moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1999 after getting married. She joined the YMCA the same year she moved to Arizona; “my husband suggested me to join the Y to work out, I never thought I would be teaching for as long as I have been- 16 years now and I plan to continue teaching”.

After joining the Y, she got certified to teach group fitness classes and has been since, “the Y it’s not the typical gym, it has a family environment, the friendly staff that recognizes members when they walk into the door makes the Y different, and I love being part of it. I thank the staff, especially Mary Davis at Legacy Foundation of Chris-Town where I teach for her motivation and encouraging me to get certified to teach, I am so thankful I listened to her and I did it, I love what I do, I love the Y, the members and the staff, I love being part of a great cause!”
