Although Jared Kittelson’s daughters, Lilly and Laila, often joke that he goes to lunch for a living, he actually does much more than that at our Legacy Foundation Chris-Town YMCA. Kittelson, who serves as the Executive Director of the branch, oversees the operations of the facility, and he is in charge of making sure that everything is running smoothly, and that all employees and guests have the best experience possible.

Jared has always naturally gravitated to leadership roles, as he enjoys helping people and inspiring them to be at their best. Kittelson moved to Arizona from his home state of Wisconsin and spent the last 11 years involved in education as a principal and superintendent. Now he is putting his experience to good use by coaching and developing his staff so that they can offer guests a friendly environment where they feel welcome and part of a larger community. He enjoys managing such a committed and talented group of people, and he is happy to be a part of the Y family. As as a former forest firefighter, Jarod also likes working for an organization that promotes health and wellness, and he enjoys being able to walk out of his office and see so many people improving their lives through fitness, swimming and sports.

His favorite role is being a dad, and his most proud accomplishment is his family. As a dad of two, Jared says that fatherhood is a great adventure and every moment spent with his kids is special and extraordinary. He especially loves it when his girls spoil him on Father’s Day with homemade gifts and treats, and he can’t wait to see what they have in store for him this year. He also looks forward to spending the summer watching movies, going to restaurants, and enjoying the company of his kids and fiancee Flor.

It is individuals like Jared who put our mission into practice and help us make a positive impact on the members of our community. We want to wish Jared a Happy Father’s Day, and thank him for his dedication and commitment to our cause!
