The Desert Foothills Family YMCA is excited to partner with Helping with Horsepower and the local motorcycle community to launch this FREE one-of-a-kind hands-on, interactive learning experience to rebuild, market and raffle-off an entire custom motorcycle!
WHEN: Saturdays: Starting August 2016
WHAT: This program is unique in its approach to teaching life and social skills through the rebuilding of a damaged motorcycle.
WHO: Open to teens in Desert Foothills community. Opportunities will be available for teens with a variety of interests including mechanical, marketing, paint design, graphic arts, web design, sales and social media. SPACE IS LIMITED TO 20 STUDENTS.

Volunteer Mentors & Sponsors Needed
Join Laura Klock’s Helping with Horsepower™, Diva Amy and the Desert Foothills Family YMCA in a FREE one-of-a-kind, interactive learning experience for teens 12-18. Starting August 2016, teens will have a chance to rebuild, market and raffle-off an entire custom motorcycle! This program is unique in its approach to teaching life and social skills through rebuilding a damaged motorcycle. Involvement from local experts is critical to the program’s success. Mentors will be working 1:1 with the teens in their given area and partners can help supply the parts and many services needed to make the program a success.
Volunteer Mentor Positions and Sponsorship opportunities include:
- Technical Motorcycle Program Facilitator (must be available consistently throughout program—est. 2-3 hours per week)
- Motorcycle Donation
- Graphic Designer & Paint Expert
- Shop Partner
- Event Planner
- Storage Company
- Parts Supplier
- Social Media Specialist
- Tool Supplier…and many more!
