ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) is a FREE two-day, workshop designed for members of all caregiving groups presented by Mary Anne Fout & Julie Mack. Upon completion of training, participants will be able to: •Recognize that caregivers and persons at risk are affected by personal & societal attitudes about suicide. •Discuss suicide in a direct manner with someone at risk. •Identify risk alerts & develop related safeplans. •Demonstrate the skills required to intervene with a person at risk of suicide. •List the types of resources available •Make a commitment to improving community resources. •Recognize that suicide prevention is broader than suicide first-aid & includes life promotion & self-care for caregivers. *Registration limited to 25 people. 5 spots will be reserved for Community Foundation for Southern AZ members. Attendees are required to attend both days.
