Kelvin Ontiveros is a recent newcomer to the Flagstaff Y and we are excited to see what he adds to our culture as one of our newest personal trainers and group fitness instructors.
Kelvin is originally from Cottonwood, Arizona and moved up to the Flagstaff area for Northern Arizona University. Much like many of our members, he has completely fallen in love with our amazing community in the mountains. As a kid, Kelvin loved playing sports, hiking and spending time with his friends and family. As an adult, he has transferred his love for fitness into a career at the Y.
“My passion in this area has only grown since I got my certification in personal training through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). I believe that, in order to have a strong community, it is important for individuals to stay active and healthy. That’s where I step in!”
In his short time with the Flagstaff YMCA, Kelvin has coached basketball and soccer, started personal training and helped lead other community events. He is passionate and positive about helping others take the steps necessary to feel better in all areas of life—spirit, mind, and body! We are so thrilled to have such a cause-driven and hardworking member want to be more involved with the Flagstaff YMCA community.
You will often see him on the basketball court or in the weight room at our Y—make sure you introduce yourself and give him a big Flagstaff Welcome!
