To inspire hope, create new opportunities, and change futures through social service initiatives.
The Y has responded to society’s more pressing needs since 1844. It’s what we do. We develop initiatives and community-based solutions. And we unite people from all walks of life to participate in and work for positive social change. Our social service initiatives in health, education, vocational training, character-building, cultural understanding, mentoring, and financial aid have successfully changed futures in a meaningful and positive way. We create a community that reaches out to give back, and to help, our most vulnerable and deserving neighbors to achieve their dreams and to live healthy, connected, and secure lives.
Togetherhood is YMCA’s Signature Program for Social Responsibility.
This program invites Y members to lead and participate in volunteer service projects that benefit the communities where they live.
The Lincoln Family Downtown YMCA remains one of the few Y’s across the nation to maintain a housing program for men and women.
As a non-profit, the Y strives to promote healthy living and social responsibility. Offering affordable housing assists those looking to get back on their feet and heal their spirits, minds and bodies.
The Valley of the Sun YMCA understands that military families are under enormous strain.
Which is why, as a member of the Y, you and your family can spend quality time together and enjoy fun activities in a warm, supportive environment. It’s also a place to meet other military families who can relate to your unique situation.
Helping the Seniors of Ahwatukee Stay Independent at Home
The mission of the YMCA’s Outreach Programs for Ahwatukee Seniors (Y OPAS) is to assist Ahwatukee seniors 62 years and older in staying independent and healthy at home.
The goal of the Let’s Move! Outside Initiative is to get kids active! Allowing them to see physical activity as a fun way to explore the world around them!
The YMCA is developing functional partnerships across the Phoenix community and will arrange multiple programs for our youth, families, and veterans to experience America’s Great Outdoors in new and exciting ways. The initiative was put into place to bridge the growing disconnect between today’s youth and the natural world while also fighting to lower childhood obesity rates.
