The main objective of the Downtown Y Residence Program is to offer assistance to adults in need of stable and independent living while helping them to obtain services from community agencies or government programs. The Residence Program also offers affordable housing for college students, those who choose to live and work in downtown, and for retirees on a fixed income.
The multi-story residence features a women’s only floor with 16 single rooms; and four men’s only floors with 123 single rooms. Each room is furnished with a twin bed, a desk, mini-refrigerator, and small closet. Common showers and bathrooms are located on each floor. Other amenities include a lounge area for reading or watching TV, vending machines, microwave, distilled water, and coin-operated washers & dryers. Also included in the program is access to the gym facilities.
