Mary Jane has been a member since 2014 and joined right after she retired as a Computer Analyst.
She got tired of coming home feeling sluggish after work so she joined the Y and watched her caloric intake. Along with counting calories she also seemed medical advice through her doctor. Her Blood Pressure, cholesterol, sugar etc levels were high.
Mary decided to take the Silver Sneakers class every Monday and Wednesday. It was hard at first for her but as she lost weight she felt stronger and needed a challenge so she decided to take a Group Fight class. Now she is the oldest participant at 67 years old but probably amongst the most fit member in the class. Mary continues to fight her way through her day and was excited to share that she has lost 55lbs so far!!! She shares this story to let her Active older Adult friends at the Y to do the same and just move!!!”
