In closing, I want to take a moment to recognize another great program started by the YMCA, Father’s Day. This year June 17th is the day. The first Father’s Day was in Spokane, WA in 1910. In 1972 President Nixon recognized Father’s Day as an official holiday. As a proud father myself, time spent with my boys always passes too fast. Our children offer our greatest challenges in life and give us the most joy and greatest pride in seeing them become successful in life. Be sure to spend an afternoon spending quality time with a dad during this month.
