Ideal for persons who do not work in the healthcare field but are occupationally required or just desire to have first aid knowledge and skills, such as emergency response team in business and industry, school bus drivers, adult residential care personnel, child care workers, teachers, parents, and babysitters.

Basic First Aid certification includes training in victim assessment; treatment for bleeding, shock, burns, specific body area injuries, bites, stings, poisoning, cold- and heat-related conditions, and bone, muscle, and joint injuries; and handling medical emergencies and rescues.

What You Know Could Save a Life!

Our First Aid Administration training program provides workplace and community training in first aid emergency skills. This course is designed to help participates develop the necessary skills and knowledge to properly respond to a medical emergency. Participates will become familiar with a variety of settings including soft tissue injuries, muscle and bone injuries, burns, illness, and environmental emergencies. To achieve certification, participants must score a 70% or better. Certification is valid for up to 2 years.

Learn Pool and Spa Operation Techniques and Skills.

In May 2015, YMCAs nationwide partnered with the CPO® certification training program to bring the community and YMCA Members a comprehensive, widely-accepted courses that is designed to provide individuals with the basic knowledge, techniques, and skills of pool and spa operations. The Certified Pool/Spa Operator® certification program has delivered more training than any other program in the pool and spa industry since 1972, resulting in more than 375,000 successful CPO® certifications in 94 countries. Many state and local health departments accept the CPO® certification program.
