The reason I am writing about him is he is the perfect example of how not to give up when life changes.
Alexander had a hip replacement last year.
Since then he has been coming to the Y to get his strength back.
He has always been an active person, and he wasn’t about to give up on staying active just because of his surgery.
Alexander did not retire until he was 77 years old. He loved the work life and staying active meant a lot to him. It was not until he had his surgeries that he had to stop working and focus on staying strong.
Alexander comes to the Y every day, determined to exercise. He is working toward the goal of being able to walk by himself and regain his self-sufficiency.
Alexander is an excellent example of how the Y supports and encourages members of all ages.
