As an organization with more than a century of experience in caring for our community, the Valley of the Sun YMCA responds quickly to these challenges; creatively expanding our programs to meet our community when, where and how we are needed most.

Thanks to the generous support of our donors, we can continue to ensure the health, safety and well-being of every YMCA child and family. We are working to pave the way for a bright future to all of our community no matter their age, race, gender or socioeconomic status.

2024 Goals

Y programs support parents in creating stronger families in order to lower child poverty, reduce social-isolation and increase positive health outcomes.

In 2024, the Y will:

  • Continue to provide high quality, affordable Early Learning and Summer Camp programs to the more than 40% of participants that receive financial assistance.

Y programs provide safe spaces to allow teens and young adults to build a sense of belonging and develop their self-identity.

In 2024, the Y will:

  • Enroll 30 students in the Youth & Government program and provide 20 Leaders-in-Training the opportunity to develop their leadership competencies.

Y programs work to reduce depression and fear through outreach and safe social gatherings.

In 2024, the Y will:

  • Provide our 1,200 insurance-based individuals with social programs and activities.

Y programs provide critical safety around water knowledge and teach swimming skills for youth and adults.

In 2024, the Y will:

  • Provide over 200 youth and adults with low cost swim lessons, swim team opportunities, and free Safety Around Water swim lessons.
