As an organization with more than a century of experience in caring for our community, the Valley of the Sun YMCA responds quickly to these challenges; creatively expanding our programs to meet our community when, where and how we are needed most.

Thanks to the generous support of our donors, we can continue to ensure the health, safety and well-being of every YMCA child and family. We are working to pave the way for a bright future to all of our community no matter their age, race, gender or socioeconomic status.

2024 Goals

Y programs provide critical safety around water knowledge and teach swimming skills for youth and adults.

In 2024, the Y will:

  • Teach 250 kids how to swim and lifesaving skills in and around water through Safety Around Water lessons and dry land safety skills.

Y programs provide experiences rich in social and emotional learning because youth can achieve their potential when they are nurtured by supportive adults.

In 2024, the Y will:

  • Provide care for 30 students in before and after school.
  • Provide scholarships for 50 kids to attend summer day camp.
  • Send 50 kids to camp who otherwise wouldn’t be able to attend.

Y programs support parents in creating stronger families in order to lower child poverty, reduce social-isolation and increase positive health outcomes.

In 2024, the Y will:

  • Provide membership and program access to at-risk kids and low income families to allow for a safe place for all children to learn, connect, and grow.

The Y provides youth ages 16-24 with pathways to employment, shelter, food and the opportunity to reach their full potential.

In 2024, the Y will:

  • Provide scholarships to 5 individuals to learn about Democracy through Youth and Government.
  • Send 20 kids to Teen Camp who would not otherwise be able to attend.
