Staff Spotlight: Jarod Oconnor

Jarod O’Connor is a proud dad, and he is learning more about life every day from his fatherhood experience. He enjoys watching his children grow up, and he loves being able to wake up to his new baby’s smile each morning. He also likes to be to teach his kids about life, and re-discover the world through their eyes. Every moment spent together is special to him, and Jarod is grateful to be part of such a wonderful family.

Jarod is also a new member of the Northwest Valley YMCA family. He joined the maintenance team three months ago, and he is in charge of making sure that all the facility’s equipment is operational and functioning properly. He likes being part of the Y team, and he appreciates that everyone works well together and that they have a sense of pride about what they do. They are all committed to helping those in the community, and this is one Jarod’s favorite things about working at the organization. He says it’s the best feeling is when he sees guests leave the facility with a smile on their faces.

His children are beginning to enjoy the perks that come with their dad’s job. Jarod’s youngest children love swimming in the pool, especially in this hot weather. He also likes sports and he hopes to pass this on to his stepson in the future by enrolling him on a team at the Y.

We are proud to have employees like Jarod who are dedicated to making our guests feel welcome and ensuring that they have the best experiences when they walk through our doors. We welcome Jarod and we wish him a Happy Father’s Day filled with much happiness and love!
