The Valley of the Sun YMCA works to ensure everyone feels welcome; inspiring and promoting diversity, inclusion and equity for all.
Land AcknowledgementÂ
The Valley of the Sun YMCA is located on the ancestorial lands of indigenous first peoples; past, present, and future. We respectfully acknowledge Arizona’s twenty-two Native Nations that have inhabited this land for centuries. Our programs and branches occupy ancestral territories of Indigenous peoples, including the Akimel O’odham (Pima) and Piipaash (Maricopa) Indian Communities, in the Salt River Valley; the Hopi Indian Community in Northern Arizona; and the Yavapai-Apache Indian Community in Prescott Arizona, whose care and keeping of these lands allows us to be here today.
Committed to diversity and inclusion, the YMCA strives to build sustainable relationships with sovereign Native Nations and Indigenous communities. The Valley of the Sun YMCA welcomes members of all Native nations to our YMCA locations and programming.
