The Y-Achievers program brought me to my current internship with the Y. I have worked with Elena Steinbeiss in the Achievers program. She helps me with my goals in life and work experience.
My YMCA work family has taught me a lot.
They showed me how to keep my anxiety under control in stressful situations. They have always been there for me. My group home family has never given up on me. I appreciate everything they have ever done for me.
My favorite staff member is Elise Nilles, the membership experience director, and my supervisor. I see her as a sister to me. We always take turns buying each other food and supporting one another. When I am going through something, she always lets me tell her what’s wrong. I love her. She is the only one who knows what I am worth.
My growth and improvement here have been amazing. I have met so many special people I care about. I feel a sense of community here at the Northwest Valley YMCA.
