At the Y, we always provide a HOME open to everyone, literally EVERYONE. The Y is For All! This means that no matter your cultural background, race, faith, age, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or generation, the Y is a place you can feel welcome all the time. Every day we live by our core values to promote inclusion, diversity, equity, and equality for all.
When an opportunity arises to celebrate progress and to show our support, the Y is there. On Saturday, November 6th, 2021, we were part of the Phoenix Pride Parade organized by the City of Phoenix and their sponsors to showcase that we are proud allies to all!
CELEBRATING PROGRESS!
According to the Phoenix Pride website, “Phoenix Pride, founded in 1981, was established primarily for charitable, educational and social purposes. The main purpose of Phoenix Pride is to promote unity, visibility, and self-esteem among gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and queer persons; and to promote a positive image in the Valley of the Sun and throughout Arizona through community activities and services.” For 40 years, Phoenix Pride has been hosting community events to celebrate the Phoenix LGBTQ + community.
This year, 2021, 200+ organizations, including local businesses, corporations, non-profits, and more, joined the parade and the festival in a two-day celebration. More than 30 of our staff members and their families joined the parade to showcase our support and let people to know that the Valley of the Sun YMCA is a proud ally for all!

En el Y, siempre tenemos un HOGAR abierto a todos, literalmente para TODOS.
