Youth enrichment programs are designed to provide young people with opportunities to develop essential life skills, foster creativity, and build self-confidence. These programs encompass a wide range of activities, including arts and crafts, sports, leadership training, academic support, and community service projects. By participating in youth enrichment programs, children and teens can explore their interests, discover new passions, and gain valuable experiences that contribute to their overall personal and social growth. These programs not only enhance individual development but also promote positive engagement and a sense of belonging within the community. Program offerings vary by location.
ITTY BITTY SPORTS
The YMCA’s Itty Bitty Sports Programs teach the basic skills of the sport through drills and practices with less emphasis on the game. We concentrate more on the fundamentals of the sport. Itty Bitty Sports run 45-minutes and are for ages 2-4 years old. Each participant is required to wear gym shoes and sports attire while equipment will be provided from the Y. Parent involvement with their child is required during class.
OOEY-GOOEY
Ooey-gooey is a hands-on experience where young minds dive into the fascinating world of messy fun! Each week kids will embark on a new ooey-gooey adventure, exploring a variety of textures, colors, and ingredients. Get ready to dive into the science behind slime, kinetic sand, oobleck and more! Ages 3 to 5 must participate with a guardian.
KIDS IN THE KITCHEN
Welcome to the YMCA’s “Kids in the Kitchen” program, where young chefs embark on a culinary adventure without the need for a stove or oven! Your child will learn to create delicious (and healthy!) snacks and meals while learning essential kitchen skills in a safe and fun environment. Ages 3 to 5 must participate with a guardian.
CONSTRUCTABLES
It’s time to unleash your creativity! This class offers kids an opportunity to imagine, design, and build the world they want to see with Legos, cardboard, and other fun building materials. Learn how to design, work in a team, and build the endless number of creations that you can dream up. Ages 3 to 5 may need to participate with a guardian for some projects.
