HOMELESS VETERAN’S REINTEGRATION PROGRAM (HVRP):
The Homeless Veterans’ Reintegration Program (HVRP) is an employment-focused initiative designed to empower veterans experiencing homelessness—or those at risk of becoming homeless— achieve their full employment potential. The program aims to support participants in securing high-quality, sustainable career opportunities that promote long-term stability and self-sufficiency.
The YMCA will offer comprehensive support services to veterans, including job placement, job training, career counseling, and résumé preparation. These services are designed to help veterans overcome barriers to employment and achieve long-term success in the labor market. YOUTH WORKFORCE CAREER SERVICES:
The Y Achievers Program provides education and career workforce services for Phoenix youth and young adults ages 14 through 24 and serves to create opportunities for participants to increase their academic and career opportunities preparing them to serve as successful members of their community.
Specific services and resources provided by YMCA Employment and Career Services include:
- One-on-one case management
- Alternative secondary school opportunities
- Free GED tutoring
- Post-Secondary educational/vocational opportunities
- Job Development
- Paid and unpaid work experiences
- Leadership development activities
- Financial literacy education
- Entrepreneurial skills training
Working in a one-on-one capacity, participants develop personal relationships that foster a supportive environment allowing them to learn, grow and achieve at their full potential.
The YMCA Y Achievers program is a proud partner of Arizona@Work and the City of Phoenix. It is funded through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).

CHILDCARE WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT:
The Childcare Workforce Development program provides education and career workforce services in the areas of Youth Development for young adults ages 16 through 24. This program provides an opportunity to learn within a YMCA childcare program and start a path towards a career in Youth Development.
Specific services and resources provided by YMCA Childcare Workforce Development program include:
- One-on-one case management
- Supportive Services including but not limited to; food boxes, medical clinics, mental health services, clothing closet.
- Resume building assistance
- Job Development
- Paid and unpaid work experiences
Participants that engage in our program will complete the necessary documents and trainings to work in any Arizona Licensed Childcare Center.
The Childcare Workforce Development program is funded through the Department of Labor.

EARLY LEARNING EDUCATOR APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM
The Valley of the Sun has a Registered Apprenticeship program through the State of Arizona in the subject of Early Learning. The Early Learning Educator Apprenticeship program term is 1 year with an attainment of 2,000 on the job learning hours in one of our programs with 144 hours of related instruction. The Apprenticeship program is available for ages 16+. The related instruction will entail receiving a virtual pathway to obtain your Child Development Accreditation (CDA).
The skills/benefits in participating in this apprenticeship program will include:
- Being assigned a mentor teacher throughout the program
- Free virtual pathway to complete instruction hours of CDA
- Engage in learning to obtain Lead Teacher position
- Obtain Certificate of Completion at end of program
First Cohort will launch in June 2025.
The Valley of the Sun YMCA Early Learning Educator Apprenticeship is a Registered Apprenticeship program with the Arizona Apprenticeship Office.
