The Valley of the Sun YMCA is a cause-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to providing affordable programs and services that benefit people of all incomes and backgrounds in our community.

These Y programs and services help keep children, adults, and families in our communities healthier and more connected in spirit, mind, and body.

Thanks to the generous support of those who donate to the Y’s Annual Community Support Campaign and other fundraising events, funding is available to those who cannot afford our programs and who qualify for assistance.

Eligible youth and families find the support they need in YMCA programs such as Youth Sports, Swim Education, Childcare, Before and After Care, Summer Camp, Teen Leadership, and so much more.

The process of obtaining financial assistance is simple and confidential, and we encourage members in need of YMCA Membership and Program assistance to contact a local YMCA branch for further information.

MILITARY OUTREACH

We give back to our military community by offering tow military family programs.

Each provides access to child care, youth development, family strengthening, and health and well-being programs.

Military Outreach Initiative (MOI) Membership:

The Valley of the Sun YMCA is proud to participate in the YMCA Military Outreach Initiative.

This initiative provides free membership access to eligible deployed military personnel and military families.

Offered exclusively to military families, this membership is offered in six-month intervals and allows access to all 13 Valley of the Sun YMCA locations.

The Military Outreach Initiative was launched in 2008, and $31 million in government funding is available for eligible military families and active-duty personnel to receive free memberships at full-facility YMCAs in their communities.

Membership fees for this initiative are underwritten by the Department of Defense (DOD).

Through this collaborative partnership, participating YMCAs throughout the United States and Puerto Rico will provide this program for the following Title 10* DOD Military Groups:

Families of Deployed National Guard and Reserve
Active Duty Assigned to Independent Duty Locations
Relocated Spouses of Deployed Active Duty Personnel
Community-Based Wounded Transition Unit.

*The initiative is limited to Title 10 personnel only, per Department of Defense guidelines.

Discounted Military Membership:

All active duty retired, and veteran military members are eligible to purchase a military membership at a reduced cost with no joining fees at any Valley of the Sun YMCA location.

Qualifying service members are encouraged to visit any one of our friendly YMCA welcome centers. (Military identification is required).

NATIONWIDE MEMBERSHIP

YMCA’s Nationwide Membership allows members to visit any participating YMCA throughout the United States as part of their “home” YMCA membership.

More than 2600 YMCA locations participate in the Nationwide Membership program and it is offered out of the Y’s commitment to strengthening communities, and supporting you and the health of your mind, body, and spirit, wherever you are!

Qualifying Details:

Valid for active, full-facility YMCA members
Nationwide members must use their “home” YMCA at least 50% of the time, and on a monthly basis
Program-only participants and special memberships are not eligible

Additional Tips:

We strongly recommend verifying that the Y you are visiting participates in the Nationwide Membership program and that it offers the services and amenities you intend to use.

Please have a valid photo ID with you on your visit, and be prepared to sign a waiver whenever visiting a Y location outside of your “home” branch’s Association.
