YMCA RECREATIONAL SWIM TEAM
The Recreational Swim Team provides entry-level swim team experience. This track educates participants on the experience of stroke development and age-appropriate conditioning without focusing on competition or time commitment. It is ideal for swimmers who have recently completed the YMCA swim lesson program. Optional swim meets and other events are also offered. Participants must be able to swim 25 yards freestyle.
YMCA SILVER FINS COMPETITIVE SWIM TEAM
The YMCA Silver Fins Swim Team subscribes to a philosophy of teaching and training that provides maximum long-term performance in its swimmers both in and out of the pool. Participants are divided into eight (8) different groups determined by a variety of factors including age, ability, maturity, performance, and attitude. The cornerstone of our coaching philosophy rests in the building of a strong foundation of technique and a love for racing with a strong aerobic base. Leadership and accountability are two essential skills we aim to develop in our athletes, along with self-discipline, time management, sportsmanship, and goal setting.
