BENEFITS OF A PERSONAL TRAINER

The Y has personal trainers for all ages and needs. Joshua Lipane, Program Director of Healthy Living, and Personal Trainer at the Scottsdale/Paradise Valley Family YMCA, has shared his thoughts on the benefits of starting a fitness journey with a personal trainer:

  1. Keep the client safe and push them in a safe manner to achieve fitness goals.
  2. A personal trainer makes sure you are doing the exercises correctly and in good form.
  3. You can learn new ways to improve your strength, differently to increasing your weight.
  4. It provides better ideas and more resources to keep you motivated in your journey.

Erin Hallenbeck, Program Director of Healthy Living at Ross Farnsworth Family YMCA and Chandler/Gilbert Family YMCA, said “Personal trainers are there to push you and keep you accountable, and make sure you are heading in the right direction.” In addition, she said, “It is a good way to start off the new year and this holiday season with some good goals and some direction to those.”

The Y is for everyone. We strive to provide affordable programs and services to benefit people of all ages, incomes, and backgrounds in our community. We have different types of memberships for young adults, adults (28+), seniors (65+), couples (two adults), families, and the military. In addition, we have membership and program assistance, so everyone can try the Y.
