Barbara has been involved with the Tempe Family YMCA for over 20 years. When she’s at the Y, she is in the pool taking Water Aerobics and walking laps or taking the Jumpstart circuit class with her friends.

During the month of July and August, the Tempe Family YMCA hosted the Beat the Heat Challenge. Some of our winners included Maureen Dipasqual and Lily Loui. Maureen and her husband, Dennis are regulars at The Y. In fact, all three leaders you will find at The Y more times than not, especially when a group fitness class is going on.

Member Spotlight: Cassidy also successfully completed the YMCA Leadership Academy Internship, in partnership with NAU, to develop as a graduating senior.

We have hired our seasonal team who are dedicated to being strong role models to your children. Our staff is extensively trained extensively in Child Abuse Prevention, CPR, First Aid, and their ready to create a life-changing experience for our Members this summer. Our YMCA has exciting changes coming for June, including new Group Fitness Classes, Sports Clinics, and Recreational Swim Team.

Scott Helzer, a Personal Trainer at the Tempe YMCA, is passionate about helping people realize their personal goals through sports and fitness. Scott’s favorite part about working at the branch is having the opportunity to teach and motivate people, while cultivating his interests and growing professionally in his chosen career field. He also assists with Summer Teen Camp and he enjoys being able to coach and inspire teens to be their best. In addition to these responsibilities, he teaches some fitness classes at the branch

Grace Ruby, a member of the 7:00 am circuit class at the Tempe YMCA, is one of the 10 finalists for the Richard L. Swanson Inspiration Award.
